(A) Gas Chromatograph (GC)
It takes 9 minutes for a conventional GC and 2-3 minutes for a fast GC to run a gasoline sample and about 15 minutes for a conventional GC and 5-6 minutes for a fast GC for a cycle.
It takes one run only for all the properties we mentioned above or more.
It takes seconds only for Versions 2.0 and 4.0 to compute AKI, Distillation, VP, API, Ethanol, MTBE, TAME, Benzene, mixed Diesel, and … for a gasoline sample.
Since GC with an auto sampler can run samples itself without analysts’ watching and caring. One analyst can run hundreds of gasoline samples a day. --------
In addition, it consumes very little amount of gasoline samples for a run. A vial of 1-2 ml of gasoline can be used for dozens of runs.
It takes about an hour or longer based on the used methods for an analyst to run the tests above for a gasoline sample. Plus it needs more time to calculate all the results and needs much greater volume of a sample.
It may save several analysts to use a GC with CL 4.0. The more samples, the more analysts you save.
